Cultural Bridge Consulting
Supporting families to navigate UK social work and safeguarding systems, and helping organisations build genuine cultural understanding.
About Us
Cultural Bridge Consulting was founded in response to a growing need within African and diaspora communities across the UK.Too often, families experience cultural misunderstandings when engaging with social work, safeguarding, and child welfare services. Differences in cultural norms, parenting practices, communication styles, and family structures can sometimes be misinterpreted, leading to confusion, mistrust, and unnecessary barriers to effective support. These challenges can create fear and uncertainty for families, making it harder to build positive relationships with professionals and ultimately affecting outcomes for children and young people. At Cultural Bridge Consulting, we work to bridge this gap by promoting cultural understanding, strengthening communication, and fostering trust between families and services. Our goal is to ensure that families feel heard, respected, and supported, while helping professionals develop the cultural awareness needed to deliver effective and inclusive practice.Connecting cultures. Empowering families. Improving outcomes.
Our approach
Our work is guided by a commitment to:Cultural humility – recognising and respecting diverse cultural experiences and perspectives.Trauma-informed practice – understanding the impact of trauma and promoting safe, supportive engagement.Anti-oppressive values – championing fairness, inclusion, and equitable practice.Clear, accessible communication – ensuring information is understood and meaningful for all parties.Partnership working – building strong relationships between families, communities, and professionals.Through this approach, we hope to help create stronger connections, greater understanding, and more effective support for children, adults, and families.
